TelaTownAndTheRainbow
Tela Kopacz, Town and the Rainbow. Acrylic and watercolor on canvas, 5″ x 5″.  March 2014

The door is lavender. The knob is red.
Inside, a painter thinks about the sky
But paints another house next door, instead,
To have a neighbor – maybe you, or I.
Then she forgets, and uses all the blue.
Or mostly. So the sky might not get done.
She looks, and thinks: I know what I can do…
Then paints a house, and then another one.
The blue will go to rainbow, where the green
And yellow want to take each other’s place,
And make a sort of order in between
That ripples through the laws of time and space…
A little thing, that physicists can fix.
For now. Just wait… the artist’s only six.
